Have you had a checkup lately?

Friday, December 9th, 2011

Even if you brush and floss daily, as well as maintain your braces it is still important to visit your local dentist every 6 months, or as recommended. Why?

• Your dentist can detect and treat tooth and gum problems that you may have never felt or noticed.
• Even thorough daily oral care may not be enough to prevent cavities and oral decay.
• Frequent visits can allow your dentist to treat a problem early to prevent future complications.

During an oral exam your dentist can check the health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks and tongue. Checkups will also include a thorough teeth cleaning and polishing.

If you have not visited a dentist in the past six months, please let us know! Drs. Gary Starr and Steven Dickens will be happy to provide a few great references here in the area!

Dr. Starr and Dr. Dickens support Smile for a Lifetime

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

Your smile has a huge impact on your personal development. Here at Starr Orthodontics, we understand how your smile can change your life. That’s why we recently began a Charlotte Smile for a Lifetime chapter. It is the Smile for a Lifetime Foundation’s mission to create self confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children in our community in a dramatic way. If you or someone you know has a severe esthetic need for orthodontic treatment, we encourage you to apply for one of our Smile for a Lifetime Foundation orthodontic scholarships. We hope to give away 12 orthodontic scholarships to deserving kids this year! For more information, we encourage you to check out Drs. Dickens and Starr’s recent interview with News14.com.
