Meet the Team
 Curran Curran has been a front office administrator with Starr Orthodontics since May of 2006. She believes that the friendly customer service, a dependable team, and excellent facilities make working here a pleasurable experience for all. Curran and her husband, Scott, have two teenage boys, Brad & Ben, who keep them very active. While not in the office, she enjoys painting, gardening, and playing with her black lab named Georgia and her cats, Trixie and Gobbles. She is an avid Carolina Panthers fan and is excited anytime she gets a chance to attend a game. |
 ShirleenShirleen has been with Dr. Starr since 1997 and has been in the orthodontic field since 1980. She works behind the scenes carrying out administrative, insurance and front office duties. She is our front office coordinator and can be found crawling around behind our computers and repairing our office equipment (maybe we should call her our own MacGyver). She feels that we are fortunate to work for the best orthodontist and to be part of a staff that truly becomes your family. She loves being in a practice that treats our patients and parents with the utmost care and attention to detail, and we are always striving to give the best customer service that we can. Shirleen and her family moved to the Charlotte area in 1984. When not at work she enjoys the beach, family time and cheering on the Tar Heels and Panthers. She plans on working here until we get tired of her. |
 TammyTammy is our Financial Coordinator and has been an integral part of Dr. Starr’s team since 1994. She has been working in the field of orthodontics since 1987 when she earned her degree in dental assisting. Tammy truly enjoys working with our parents to arrange flexible payment schedules to meet their needs. She and her husband, Phillip, reside in Concord, NC, with their daughter, Brooke. They also have a son in college, Josh. Away from work, Tammy can be found riding bikes, taking evening walks with their chocolate lab, Taz, and going to see movies with Brooke most Friday afternoons. Tammy is passionate about helping others and truly cares about our patients and their families. |
 CarolCarol has been with Starr Orthodontics since April 2007, when she and her husband, Richard, relocated to the Matthews area from MA, better known as Red Sox country! Carol thoroughly enjoys her position as New Patient Coordinator as it gives her the opportunity to extend the warm Starr family welcome to patients and their families. When Carol isn’t in the office, you will find her playing with her puppy, Molly, or visiting with her two daughters and their families. Carol loves having fun with her 5 grandchildren, watching Red Sox games, writing, drawing, and smelling puppies’ feet. |
 MontyMonty moved to Charlotte in June of 1999 when she joined Starr Orthodontics as a Treatment Coordinator. She enjoys working in a friendly and caring atmosphere. Monty is very attentive to each of her patients and is always enthusiastic to answer any questions about their treatment here. Monty is married and has two daughters. Her most prize possessions are her beautiful grandchildren, all six of them! Away from the office, she enjoys reading, dancing, running, and spending time with friends and family. |
 Julie Julie has been a Treatment Coordinator with Starr Orthodontics since October of 2005. She loves the fun and friendly atmosphere in our office. Julie is passionate about making sure that all of her patients have an abundance of needed information and a comfortable feeling about their upcoming treatment. Julie is a Charlotte native and lives with her husband, Dean, and their son, Cooper, as well as a drooling Basset hound named Baxter. Most of her time away from the office you will find Julie with her nose in a good book or soaking up the sun at the beach…or better yet, doing both! |
 RhondaRhonda is originally from north Louisiana and moved to Charlotte in 1991. She and her husband, John, have three children, Molly, Katie and Ben. Rhonda joined Starr Orthodontics in 2005 and enjoys assisting our families as a front office support team member and treatment coordinator. The fun and friendly atmosphere in our office is what drew her to want to be a part of this extraordinary team. She invites you to please stop by and say hello on your next visit.  AnnaAnna joined the Starr Orthodontics team in September of 2008 and brings many years of professional office experience to our practice. She truly enjoys assisting our parents at the front desk and loves seeing the kids smile after they get their braces off. Anna and her husband, Alan, have two boys, Adam and Aaron. Her favorite pastimes include spending time with friends, riding horses and playing with Biscuit and Bear, the family’s two Shih Tzu puppies. |
 AmyAmy joined the Starr team in 2000. While still in high school, Dr. Starr trained her to be multitalented for all lab work and chair side assisting. Amy enjoys working with new patients on their first visit, letting them know how great our office is, even when they are a little nervous. Amy was born in Charlotte and loves to spend time with her husband and family. |
 Jana Jana joined the Starr Orthodontics team in 2006. Jana is a Lab Technician and enjoys working with our new patients. She is always friendly and conscientious when caring for adults and children alike. Her shining smile and patience are a compliment to our team. In her spare time away from the office, Jana loves to shop, spend time with her friends and is always eager for a fun trip to the beach. |
 Kendra Kendra joined the Starr team in 2001 and has over 13 years experience. She loves the enthusiasm and caring nature of the office. With her passion for orthodontics and love of her patients, she enjoys becoming a part of her patient’s family. Kendra is a West Virginia native who moved to Charlotte with her husband Chris and daughter Amanda in 1999. When not at the office she loves to travel, go to church, play softball, exercise, go to the movies, and spend time with her Cocker Spaniel, Gauge. |
 SharonSharon joined the Starr team in 2004 and has more than 13 years of experience in orthodontics. She grew up in Miami Beach, Florida and has been living in Charlotte for 26 years now. She is a mother of two outstanding young men. Jack is 18 and Nolan is 15 yrs. old. Sharon is a sports fanatic and loves the Carolina Panthers along with her devotion to the Miami Dolphins and the New York Yankees! Being one of eleven children has taught her to be a team player and she loves getting to know her family of patients. She likes to travel to Charleston’s beaches and the mountains in Asheville. As a part of the Starr team, you have to keep up with the pace, and Sharon loves to stay active with cycling and her two dogs, Coco and Petey. |
 Kim Kim has been with Starr Orthodontics since 1998, but has over 14 years of experience. Kim constantly strives to ensure each patient has a positive and fun experience while here at our office. She also loves building relationships with each patient individually. Outside of work Kim spends her time with her children, Dawson, Dayton, and Gracie, along with their two dogs, Roxey, a Boxer, and Sussie, a Pug. When she is not busy with her kids, she loves spending time with friends, being outdoors, and relaxing by a pool or on the beach. |
 Lynda Lynda has been with Starr Orthodontics since 1993. She has a multitask position. She thinks it is wonderful to see the great smiles being created while making retainers. She is a wife and proud parent of two sons, Frank, Jr., and Jonathan. When not working, Lynda spends much of her time at the beach and shopping. |
 Lisa Lisa has been an orthodontic assistant with Dr. Starr’s team since 2002. With 13 years of experience in orthodontics, her favorite thing about working in the field is seeing the positive change in her patients' self-esteem as they complete treatment. When she is not at work, you might see Lisa cruising around in her convertible Miata. She also enjoys riding her horse, Mary, and playing with the family’s two dogs, Zoe and Roxie. Lisa and her husband, Bill, have three lovely daughters: Nicole, Alisha, and April. |
 Kim Kim has been an orthodontic assistant since 2002. She joined Starr Orthodontics in 2007 when she moved back here to her hometown. Kim’s passion for orthodontics comes from getting to interact with so many great people. Kim loves shopping and playing with her two boys, William and Nicholas. She also loves to cheer on the Panthers and the Tar Heels. |
 Angie Angie got her start in health care in a physician’s office in 1992, and has been in orthodontics since 1998. She is passionate about caring for patients and strives to make the orthodontic experience comfortable and fun for each of her patients. She loves the fun and friendly atmosphere at Starr Orthodontics. Angie and her husband Jack are from Marshville and they have a daughter named Kennedi. When not at work Angie loves spending time with family, cooking, reading, shopping, and supporting the Tar Heels. |
